Art of Object Arrangement in MS Word

Objects like images, shapes, and text boxes are the spice of life when it comes to designing documents. It helps you control the order, position, and alignment of your objects, making your document look polished and professional.

Step 1: Open Microsoft Word

Step 2: Insert Your Objects

Step 3: Select Your Objects

Step 4: Access the “Format” Tab

Step 5: Find the “Arrange” Option

Step 6: Order, Order!

In the “Arrange” menu, you’ll see options to arrange your objects in different ways:

  • Bring to Front: Moves the selected object(s) to the front, making them appear above other objects.
  • Send to Back: Pushes the selected object(s) to the back, making them appear behind other objects.
  • Bring Forward: Moves the selected object(s) one step forward in the stacking order.
  • Send Backward: Moves the selected object(s) one step backward in the stacking order.

 

Align and Distribute

Still in the “Arrange” menu, you’ll find alignment and distribution options:

  • Align: Aligns the selected object(s) to the left, right, center, top, or bottom.
  • Distribute: Evenly spaces multiple selected objects horizontally or vertically.

 

Group & Ungroup Objects

If you want to keep objects together as a single unit, select them and click “Group.” This way, you can move and resize them together.

Need to separate grouped objects? No problem. Select the group and click “Ungroup” to break them apart.

 

Rotate and Flip

In the “Arrange” menu, you’ll also find options to rotate and flip your selected object(s). Play around with these to get the perfect orientation.

Save Your Document

Your objects are now arranged to perfection. Don’t forget to save your document, showcasing your newfound design skills!
